Bio

Dr. Rattray’s work includes psychological assessment, treatment, and consultation for adolescents and adults, with particular strength in trauma-informed care, risk-focused formulation, and helping clients whose mental health concerns affect functioning at home, in the community, and at work.

Dr. Rattray’s background includes substantial forensic experience. She has worked in secure and court-involved settings, completed court-ordered comprehensive psychological assessments for parents and children involved in child protective services, and participated in interdisciplinary case consultation with child and family service agencies. Her professional activities also include involvement with the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA), including service on the Guideline Review Committee for best-practice guidance related to assessment, treatment, and risk management.

In her clinical work with adolescents, she has provided evidence-based individual and family-based therapy, conducted comprehensive psychological assessments with youth to clarify complex diagnostic and developmental questions, and worked with adolescents and adults in culturally informed settings serving Indigenous communities. This experience supports a developmentally sensitive approach to trauma, behavioural concerns, neurodivergence, and family-system issues affecting young people.

In treatment, Dr. Rattray uses evidence-based and skills-focused approaches, including CBT and DBT-informed interventions, to address trauma-related disorders, anxiety, mood difficulties, substance use, emotional dysregulation, and problems affecting daily functioning. She has also co-led professional workshops on trauma-related disorders in youth, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and clinical considerations in working with neurodivergence.

At fps, Dr. Rattray brings together forensic awareness, developmental sensitivity, and collaborative treatment planning. Her approach is well suited to adolescents and adults with complex presentations, especially when trauma, system involvement, risk concerns, or occupational stress require careful assessment and coordinated intervention.
