Bio
In addition to working with individuals experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and stress-related difficulties, she brings extensive experience from community, residential, and correctional settings, including over a decade of work with the Correctional Service Canada at Stony Mountain Institution. This background has strengthened her ability to assess psychological functioning in complex, high-needs cases where mental health, behaviour, risk, and system involvement intersect.
At FPS, Marisa conducts clinical assessments, treatment planning, and evaluations for third-party payers such as the Workers Compensation Board, Manitoba Public Insurance, and Veterans Affairs Canada. Her experience in forensic and correctional contexts enhances her skill in gathering and integrating information from multiple sources, clarifying diagnostic and functional questions, and developing practical, individualized recommendations that are responsive to risk, psychosocial stressors, medical comorbidity, and real-world barriers to recovery.
Her prior work has also strengthened her crisis-intervention, safety-planning, and behavioural case-formulation skills, supporting a thoughtful and structured approach to assessment and treatment. Combined with her trauma-informed practice, knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, and background in applied behaviour analysis, she brings to FPS a strong capacity for careful assessment, clear formulation, and intervention planning for clients with complex presentations.
