Bio

At fps, Jackie provides treatment to adults involved with the criminal justice system, including individuals with complex mental-health needs, trauma histories, addictions, emotional dysregulation, and violent or sexual offending behaviours.

Jackie uses a holistic framework that considers the interaction between the individual, the environment, and personally meaningful goals. Her work includes formal and informal assessment, treatment planning, and functional rehabilitation using therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Jackie also brings relevant experience working with individuals who present with cognitive impairment or intellectual disability alongside complex behavioural and forensic concerns. Since joining FPS, she has provided treatment to people involved with the criminal justice system, including clients with cognitive impairment and significant mental health needs, and her continuing education includes specialized training in sexual offence treatment, online sexual offending, and work with adolescents and adults who have engaged in problematic sexual behaviour. This background supports a structured, practical approach to intervention that emphasizes risk awareness, emotional regulation, functional skill-building, and individualized planning for clients whose intellectual or adaptive difficulties intersect with sexual behaviour problems and broader community-safety concerns.

Jackie’s prior roles include crisis work at the Crisis Response Centre, collaboration with Winnipeg Police Service through the ARCC pilot project, assertive community treatment, and clinical leadership in mental-health services. This background supports a practical and recovery-oriented approach focused on safety, functioning, and sustainable community reintegration.
